More Information: Leslie went sailing in the Solent on the Iverna.  The ship was under full sails when suddenly hit by bad weather, the  Iverna sank immediately.  According to his shipmates, Leslie was wearing sea boots, could not swim and went down before anybody could help him.  He was the youngest member of the sailing club.  The event happened so quickly, the crew didn't have time to release the dinghy.  The other 7 sailors were rescued by the yacht Maud.
