More Information: Moses travelled to many places after leaving Kings Somborne, having children in Essex and Scotland, finally settling in Southampton. It is not known when and where he became a butler but this may explain why he travelled so much. It is believed that Moses was the butler at Penninghame House in Wigtown, Scotland until it was sold by William Douglas of Castle Douglas to the Conservative MP James Blair in 1825. |
